Women’s Knock out Football: Tripura Sports School wins title

AGARTALA:

Tripura Sports School today won their back to title as in the final match of the ongoing Women’s Knock out football tournament today Tripura Sports School became victorious by defeating Tripura Police by 2-1. At Umakanta mini stadium today the young brigade of Tripura Sports School defeated experienced Tripura police side and with this also registers their second title win on the trot. Earlier in this month sports school also win the league title.

In the final match today Tripura Police could have won the match easily as they lost so many opportunities also some wrong tactics from Coach Sandip Das led them to the downfall. From the start of the match though both the teams have played with attacking mindset as in the first half Police team was very much advanced in term of collecting the ball. Also with injury midfielder Dipti Paul tried her best to play well and gave her one hundred percent till the end.

While today Police badly missed the service of Fudulu Debbarma. Just before the end of first half Gulti Choudhury scored the opening goal for Tripura Police while in the 60th minute of the match Kajalati Reang scored the equalizer for Sports School. Also in this half Police lost around three opportunities to score goals. Stipulated time ended with 1-1 as in the extra time Babita Orang scored the winning goal for Sports School. Aditya Debbarma conducted the match.
