One house wife burnt by husband is battling for life at Churaibari. Sources said that the incident occurred at ward no-4 of Purba Fulbari under Churaibari Police Station of North.
The neighbours of adjacent houses rushed the house of Tahamina Begam (30) hearing her hue and cry at 4 p.m. today. They saw Tahmina’s body was burning in fire at her room.
Meanwhile her husband and son and neighbours rushed there and extinguished the fire. In spite of that most of the body was burnt by the fire. Immediately they informed Fire Service at Premtala. The staffs of Fire Service shifted Tahamina to Kadamtala Rural Hospital. Observing her serious condition the doctors referred the patient to other hospital. The doctors said that 70 percent of her body burnt by fire. Now she is battling for life in hospital.
In her statement in injured condition Tahamina said that her husband Matchin Ali was continuing physical and mental torture on her for long time. Her husband tortured on her suspecting that she had illegal relation with any other person. At last her husband set fire on her after pouring kerosene on body when she was alone in house. He son Mainul Hassan also supported the statement of her mother. Meanwhile police from Churaibari Police Station reached there and filed a case.
