In another incident, Police recovered machetes and other sharp weapons stash away in an office of the CITU in Tripura at Old Motor Stand area on Monday morning.
Police said that some old rods and machete-like weapons were recovered from an office of a trade union in the old motor stand area.
However, no firearms were recovered, police officials said.
The recovery was made based on a specific complaint. If further complaints are lodged with the police, proper action would be taken, he said.
Police also added that there was no guarantee that more weapons were not stashed away in other CPM offices and people should be more careful about their safety.
