'Vote rigging in over 50% polling booths': CPI-M

AGARTALA:

The opposition Communist party of India and Marxist in Tripura alleges of vote rigging in more than 50 per cent polling booths during the April 11 poll to West Tripura parliamentary constituency.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday evening the CPI-M state secretary Goutam Das alleges this and said this latest report has been tabled with the election commission on Saturday and demanded for re-poll to those polling booths. Mr. Das also said that the CPI-M shall welcome if the election commission initiate re-polling to entire West Tripura poll.

CPI-M state secretary Goutam Das in the press conference also alleged that the ruling BJP party is creating a terror tactics in the East Tripura constituency in wake of the poll. He said that the CPI-M has demanded the election commission to ensure free and fare election for the East Tripura constituency and restrict the BJP goons from creating terror. Mr. Das alleged that the party's East Tripura candidate Jitendra Choudhury was attacked repeatedly during his poll campaign.

Meantime the CPI-M west Tripura candidate Sankar Prasad Dutta in the press conference alleged that no real scrutiny was done by the election commission as the CPI-M party was not allowed to go in depth of the video footage of the CCTV and Web camera installed inside the polling stations.
