Veteran Congress leader and ex-Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat urged to vote for Congress

AGARTALA:

Veteran Congress leader and ex-Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat on Thursday in a press meet at Congress Bhawan slammed both BJP and CPI-M  for their unconstitutional ideologies and urged the electorates to vote for Congress in the upcoming 2018 Tripura Assembly election.  He also stated that both BJP and Congress are corruption tainted and thereby he appealed the voters to vote for congress.

He further launched an attack on the BJP and Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), saying there was a concerted effort to assume power in the poll-bound state by creating rifts in the society.

The 59-member Tripura Assembly is slated to go to the polls on 18 February. The BJP-IPFT alliance has emerged as the main contender of the CPM-led Left Front, which has been in power in the north-eastern state for the last 25 years.

On the other hand All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader and Mahila Congress general secretary Nagma Morarji stated that over the years BJP has failed to implement any of its poll promises that it made before being voted to power in 2014 Lok Sabha polls and the same promises made by Modi in Tripura are hollow.
