With the initiative of the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura and Bharat Ratna Club a Hepatitis vaccination program was organized at the club premises to mark the World Hepatitis Day on Friday in Agartala.
With the theme of Hepatitis Free Tripura, the organization Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura organizes several awareness program and vaccination program every year.
As a part of the program, the vaccination programs were also organized where many people were also given vaccination including the children’s. The vaccination program began from Morning 10 AM and continued till 2 PM.
However, it is to be mentioned here that the vaccination program will be given in three dosages to the people. First dose is give on Friday followed by two other dosages on 3rd September and 28th January.
The World Hepatitis Day on 28 July 2017 is an opportunity to add momentum to all efforts to implement the WHO's first global health sector strategy on viral hepatitis for 2016-2021 and help Member States achieve the final goal - to eliminate hepatitis.
World Hepatitis Day, observed on July 28 every year, aims to raise global awareness of hepatitis - a group of infectious diseases known as Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E - and encourage prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Hepatitis affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide, causing acute and chronic disease and killing close to 1.4 million people every year.
