The Union Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation D. V. Sadananda Gowda on Thursday met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other ministers here in the secretariat office and also reviewed the ongoing central projects in the state.
Later today evening while talking the media here Gowda said, "The centre had sanctioned Rs. 15.99 crore under the Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) scheme and the works would start soon on this."
"The main aim of the scheme is to strengthen and develop the statistical system of state and focuses on implementation of the works accurately," he said today.
Besides, in reference to the Rs. 580 crore Agartala-Akahura railway project, Gowda said, "The officials of the ministry and state were directed to complete thw work within the time.bound." Adding to this he said that the construction work would start soon after the monsoon.
The minister also held a jumbo meet to discuss the current statistical status of the ongoing projects here in the state. Officers of the Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, NEEPCO, ONGC, PGCIL, NHIDCL, HSCL and Railways were present.
