In a bizarre incident, two girls went to River Manu were drowned by the river.
Both the girls, students of local Kumarghat Higher Secondary School, went to the river near 12:30 in the noon to have a bath.
According to the eyewitnesses, one girl in order to save her accompany jumped into the river but as both of them has no skills to save themselves in the water, went with the water.
Soon after the incident, the civil administration including the police initiated search operations.
According to the last information gathered from the spot dead body of one of the two girls was recovered and search operation is still under process by the NDRF team.
