The 68th Senior Men & Women National Basketball Championships to be held at Chennai from January 17-23, 2018. Tripura also will take part in both the categories in the tournament and regarding this Tripura team Selected in both sections for participate to this tournament. But due to shortage of train reservation problem this time Tripura State Basketball Association can't send the Women team to the 68th Senior National Basketball Championships.
On the other hand Basketball Federation of India started to promote Basketball in all parts of the country as dedicated Secretary General of Basketball federation of India Chander Mukhi Sharma & President K.Goyindras are working hard to promote Basketball for all the corners of our country. In this regard also Tripura State Olympic Association already granted the affiliation to Tripura State Basketball Association for promotion of Basketball across the state.
General Secretary of Tripura State Basketball Association Pinaki Roy intimated that Tripura team regularly participated to all the National level Basketball Championships and also doing very well. Also he said that some more talents will come from different part if special attraction to provide to remote places. This time Jay Chaudhury selected as captain and Ajit Bhowmtk selected as Manager of the state team for this upcoming national tournament.
