The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s young and dynamic Biplab Kumar Deb today sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tripura in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah at Agartala Assam Rifles' Ground. The BJP voting out the 25 years Left rule in the state has formed its first ever government.
Tripura former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar remained present while Deb was taking oath.
People from different corners of the state have bee-storm gathered at Assam Rifles' ground to witness the historic event. Giant posters bearing images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah dominate the landscape in Agartala as slender palm trees swung in the air.
Chief Ministers of various states streamed in to attend the function, hailing the victory of the party, which decimated 25 years of uninterrupted rule of the CPI (M)-led Left Front government in the north eastern state.
