Tripura goes for second day nation-wide strike on Wednesday called by 10 central trade unions in protest against the "pro-corporate, anti-workers and anti-people policies" of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
The second day strike also evoked mixed response from different sections of people and most of the business establishments remained open while vehicles were witnessed plying normal at the capital street and other parts. The ruling party BJP in Tripura claimed that people did not respond to this baseless bandh.
However, reacting over the two days nation-wide general strike called by the central trade union, the CITU leader Manik Dey also the former transport minister on Wednesday during the second day of the observance of this strike claimed that people of different section responded to the strike well and major section of business establishments were shut down in response to the strike against Modi-government at the centre.
Mr. Dey also claimed that only 7 per cent of the vehicles were on road during the two days strike.
