The annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings celebrated in Tripura with great enthusiasm and religious fervor on Saturday. Devotees in large number thronged Jagannath Bari temple at Agartala to take part on Jagannath Rath Yatra procession.
Devotees from all over Tripura celebrated Ratha Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath. The festival marks the annual journey of the three deities - Lord Jagannath, his brother Balaram and sister Subhadra. Amid tight security arrangements, Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra began at Agartala Jagannath Bari temple, this afternoon.
Thousands of devotees gathered at Jagannath temple in Agartala to participate in the festival and to pull the Raths of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balaram and Goddess Shubhadra. The Rath pulling ceremony began on Saturday afternoon from the premises of Jagannath temple and passed through various parts of the city.
Apart from Rath Yatra of Jagannath temple, temples of ISCON, Laxmi Narayan also celebrated the festival and moved the chariot of Lord Jagannath across the city. Other organizations and children’s were also organized Rath Yatra in the capital. Young boys with their tiny Rath from suburb areas of Agartala also came out with their chariot of Lord Jagannath and moved through various corners of Agartala city with enthusiasm.
The Rath Yatra festival of Melaghar under Sepahijala district is one of the most attractive festivals of the state and thousands of devotees across the state gathered at melaghar to celebrate the festival today and paid full devotion seeking blessings from Lord Jagannath.
