The assembly session termed to be the last session prior to the assembly poll has began here on Monday at the state legislative assembly from Monday which has faced a major uproar over the TV journalist Shantanu Bhowmik murder case.
The uproar has come up after the BJP bound MLA Ratan Lal Nath questioned the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar over the role of Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the case.
Nath also questioned CM Manik Sarkar the demand of CBI probe into the murder case. He questioned, “Despite the fact that the journalists wing along with the oppositions demand the government has not moved for the CBI probe into the case?”
Sarkar in reply has informed the assembly, “The government has already constituted the SIT to investigate the case and it is doing its duty in a proper way.” Sarkar added, “Government has trust on SIT and investigation procedures, therefore we need to wait until the SIT wind up its investigation.”
However, the six opposition MLA’s including Sudip Roy Barman who joined BJP has attended in this session but officially they were treated in their former incarnation as Trinamool Congress MLA.
