With the joint initiative of The National Institute of Agriculture Marketing Jaipur, and Directorate of Biotechnology training program for the Farmer Producer Organization on Wednesday at Agartala Press Club.
The program was inaugurated by Science and Technology Minister Bijita Nath in presence of Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar.
The program will continue for two days on 20 and 21st September.
Addressing the program, Minister Bijita Nath said, the objective of the workshop is to discuss FPO, its importance, vision and mission. FPO formation and focus is on strengthening farmer capacity, ensuring access to and usage of quality inputs and facilitating access to fair and remunerative markets. Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and cooperatives face stiff competition and the lack of professional and qualified managers aggravates the situation. To help address these issues, training was organized for the top management of FPOs, added Minister Nath.
