The East Agartala police on Wednesday detained three more accused from Gowala Basti area in the shootout case of one Debabrata Das Gupta at Chandrapur near TSBT Complex.
The accused are identified as Guddu Kumar (26), Nitish Kumar (26) and Sonu Kumar (23) and all are resident of Bihar. However, police have earlier also arrested two other in shoot out case identified as arrested Ramu Ghosh (41) and Birju Roy (41).
Police in a media brief stated that there is a possibility that few more names are likely to come up in this gambling and cannabis racket and interrogation is underway. However, the accused will be produced before the court today.
Police has also suspended the policeman from the service on charges of nexus with arrested two suspected assailants and for his alleged direct involvement with smuggling of Cannabis,
Reportedly, in a bizarre shoot out incident held at Chandrapur ISBT, a 36-year old youth- Debabrata Das Gupta was critically injured and is now fighting for life.
