AGARTALA:

After playing well in the bulk of the period, Umakanta Coaching center lost in the end in the opening match of the ongoing Third division football tournament organized by Tripura Football association. Sobuj Sangha defeated Umakanta by a narrow margin of 1-0 at Vivekananda stadium today.

Though they lost the match but in the first half of the match Umakanta played with lots of dominance as they got some chances to score around five goals. But every time the ball stuck in the sticky water near the goal post as with this they lost so many chances to score goals and in the end lost the match also.

Sourav Debnath, Ramjanai debbarma and Jibendra Reang of Umakanta grabbed the attention of the TFA members with their superb skills in the match. On the other hand due to heavy rain in the afternoon the condition of the field was very much poor as neither of the teams played their best football today.

While among the Sobuj Sangha players there was lots of miscommunication as they have to play really well in the rest of the matches to make a place in the final. Till the 58th minute of the match both the teams tried their best but failed to score any goals in the match due to lack of quality strikers.

In the 5th minute Sudarsan Das of Sobuj Sangha saved a certain goal from Sourav Debnath while in the 11th minute a superb move from Sourav went in vain as his shit stuck in the water. In the 58th minute Akmal Hussein scored the only goal of the match and thus Sobuj Sangha won the match by 1-0.
