The Indian automobile industry has been booming for a decade now. The market potential has led to the entry of many new players in the country. While some of them have enjoyed success others have failed miserably. However, this fact has not discouraged the entry of new international brands in the Indian market. 2019 will see the entry of two major car manufacturers in the market. Kia Motors and MG Motors will launch their cars for India, soon.
The Korean automaker Kia will launch a premium compact SUV in June 2019. Meanwhile, Kia has also been testing other cars in India. Kia Cerato was spotted recently while refueling. The car being caught on the camera does not guarantee its India launch. Cerato is known by different names in the world. In Korea it is known as the Kia K3, in China, it is known as Kia Shuma while in the US it is known as the Kia Forte. It has cleared many global tests with flying colors. Kia Forte sedan scores an overall 5 star rating from the US government's NHTSA agency.
Coming to the features and the specifications of the car. Kia Cerato has a distinct presence due to its tiger nose grille. It is the signature grille that can only be found on Kia cars. The headlamps of the car come with the LED DRL for safety during the day. Another unique design element that can be seen in Cerato is the placement of the turn indicators. They are placed on the front bumper with the fog lamps assembled linearly. The car also comes with a shark fin antenna. For better performance, the car has been fitted with a lower air intake system. The 17-inch allow wheels nicely fill up the wheel arches.
2019 model of Kia Cerato is 81 mm longer, 18 mm wider and the height of the car has been pushed by 13 mm. The major advantage is that the cabin space will be more for the taller occupants and the capacity of the trunk will also be increased to 428 liters.
There are some significant changes made to the interiors too. They have been upgraded to compete with the rivals in full force. Kia Cerato gets a new infotainment system which adds a touch of luxury to the cabin. The steering wheel is also redesigned to make it look more modern. The interiors also see newly designed AC vents. The overall fit and finish is sophisticated. The interior use leather upholstery and they come with the integrated headrests to enhance the comfort of the passengers.
Coming to the features in the cabin, the car is equipped with dual zone climate control. The interiors and the infotainment system have new buttons. The equipment has been specifically changed for India. The car also offers keyless entry. The active safety features include 6 airbags, reverse camera, ABS and EBD, rear parking sensor, and a central locking system.
