Syed Mushtaq Ali National T20 Cricket: Tripura face second defeat on the trot

AGARTALA:

Due to another severe batting collapse Tripura senior cricket team today lost their second match on the trot in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali National T20 Cricket tournament. At JSCA International Cricket stadium Odisha defeated Tripura by a huge margin of 72 runs.

Batting first Odisha made 179/6 while in reply Tripura bundled out for 107 overs. For the second time on the trot the batting order collapsed for Tripura and thus in the end they lost the match. With this lose it is getting very much difficult for Tripura to make place in the next stage of the tournament as in their last  match on January 14 Tripura will face strong Bengal at the same venue.

In the morning today Odisha won the toss and elected to bat first. Odisha made a good start as top four batsmen scored runs in the match and laid the foundation for building a good score. Govinda Podder scored 55 from 28 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes; Rajesh Dhuper made 42 from 34 balls with 6 fours while Subhranshu Senapati made 30.

In 20 overs Odisha made 179/6. Among the Tripura bowlers Sanjay Majumder picked up 2 wickets. In reply Tripura bundled out for 107 runs. Among the batsmen Gurinder Singh made 39 while Manisankar Murasingh made 23 as rest of them have been failed drastically. Among the bowlers Suryakant Pradhan picked up 4 wickets.
