With the initiative of Netaji play forum, Sunirmal-Swapan Memorial day and night prize money knockout Football tournament will start from July 21. The club members announced the news in a press meet at the club premises yesterday and also elaborated about the tournament.
Club president Kanu Ghosh said that from July 21 this five a side tournament will be held at Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan field. Late Sunirmal and Swapan were two active members of the club and the new committee of the club decided to organize this tournament in a grand fashion this year.
Champion and runners up team will be awarded with Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively along with beautiful prizes. In this regard interested teams have to enroll their names at the office of the forum on or before July 17 along with entry fee of Rs 500 in between 6.00-8.00 pm every day.
On July 21 the tournament will be inaugurated by Pabitra Kar, Deputy Speaker of state assembly while among the other dignitaries MLA Ratan Das, Biswanath Saha, Mayor in Council and Counselor Ratna Datta will remain present in the opening ceremony in the evening on July 21.
In the prize distribution ceremony on July 30, Sahid Choudhury, Sports minister will remain present while MLA Asish Saha and Mayor in council Bimal Rudra Paul will remain present. In the opening ceremony Raktim Saha will be felicitated for becoming as professional referee in the federation.
