Sukhamay Memorial Football: Khabaksha moves to semi

AGARTALA:

Brilliant display of goal keeping by Suman Dey led Khabaksha to the semifinal of the ongoing Sukhamay Sengupta Memorial Prize money knock out football tournament.

In the opening match of the tournament today Khabaksha defeated Police AC in the tie breaker by 5-3 and being a knock out tournament reached to the semifinal while Police AC has been knocked out. Both the teams played some good football today.

At Swami Vivekananda stadium today the spectators would have witnessed some more good display from both the sides but due to the condition of the field both the teams have failed to play their best.

But still they have tried to entertain the crowd. In the tie breaker Banbir Koloi, Pranab Sarkar, Debraj Jamatia, Bir Narayn Jamatia and Ananta Kishore Jamatia scored the goals while for Police, Benjamin Debbarma, Binod Kishore and Bikram Kishore scored the goals.

On the other hand before the start of the match today MLA Gopal Chandra Roy inaugurated this 8 team tournament while among the others counselor Himani Debbarma and former counselor Basana Debnath remained present.

After that the dignitaries offered garlanding to the memory of former chief minister. They also met with the footballers and MLA Gopal Chandra Roy inaugurated the tournament after kicking the ball in the middle.
