Two day after the official announcement of candidates, Congress candidate for the West Tripura constituency Subal Bhowmik today filed nomination to contest the polls.
Huge number of Congress supporters took to the streets in support of him. The rally was also led by TPCC president Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, TPCC vice-president Pijush Biswas and other TPCC leaders.
The veteran leader, who recently made a comeback to Congress after serving the BJP as Pradesh Vice-president for five years after filing his papers said, I am very much confident of winning. The ruling BJP has done more than that the CPIM had in their 25 year long rule. I believe people will never accept them (BJP) once again, he claimed.
Notably, Pragya Debbarma who is slated contest from the East Tripura constituency will file her nomination tomorrow, according to TPCC sources. A similar rally will be also organized at Ambassa in support of her. TPCC president is also scheduled remain present in the rally the next day.
