West District in the Boy’s category and South District in the Girl’s category became state champion in the ongoing State School Kabaddi tournament as this three daylong event ended today at Karbook School. In the morning today the semifinals in both the categories have been played while in the evening the final matches in both Boy’s and Girl’s section held.
In the Boy’s category West District defeated Gomati District in the first semifinal by 32-21 points while Unakoti District defeated South District by 36-30 points in the second semifinal and thus reached to the final. In the final match played in the evening West District defeated Unakoti District by a huge margin of 59-28 points and with this won the title and also became state champion.
On the other hand in Girl’s category Gomati District defeated West District in a very tight match in the first semifinal by 37-36 points while South District defeated Dhalai District by 48-08 points in the second semifinal and thus reached to the final. In the final match South District defeated Gomati District by of 70-61 points and with this won the title and also became state champion.
At the end of this three day long tournament the prize distribution ceremony has been held in the evening. Among the dignitaries Sports Official Kalipada Das, Secretary of State Kabaddi Association Minu Saha Choudhury, Cashier Goutam Roy and Youth Organizer of Karbook Block Shyamal Chakraborty remained present and handed over the prizes the teams and the players.
Tripura LS Poll: 80.40% voting turnout recorded till 5 PM
