Space museum: ISRO team meets Science and Technology Minister

AGARTALA:

Science and Technology Minister Sudip Roy Burman today held a meeting with the Associate Directors of ISRO Raghu R and Jiwan Kumar Pandit and their state associates at civil secretariat.

The meeting came on the heels of a proposal forwarded by the state government to install an ISRO run space museum in the state which will be the first of its kind project for the state.

Addressing the media persons just after the meeting he said, the department is planning to install a space museum under complete observation of the ISRO. Such museums are very important for the state as it will encourage the student to learn how it feels to be an astronaut and live in the space. The planetariums that will be installed here will depict the process of launching rockets and many more.

He also told the media persons that the entire set up will be installed in the Sukanta Academy building. “the journey to mars via sun that was already there is not operational right now, so we have thought that we should rejuvenate the building with a new project” he added

ISRO will be submitting the project details within March this year and we are hoping that the project will be unveiled for children before the Puja this year, he concluded.
