Smuggled wood found at Dharmanagar

DHARMANAGAR:

Acting on secret information Officer of Forest Department in North district, Subdivision Forest Officer of Panisagar Forest department and police of Kadamtala Police Station conducted a raid at house Faiyaj Ali and Maharam Ali near Kalacherra Block at about 12 p.m. today.

They recovered 40 cubic ft sized teak wood from both the houses. Market value of the teak wood is more than one lakh rupees. Although, police have failed to arrest anyone in connection with the smuggling.

It is also mentionable that SDFO Tapojyoti Debbarma snatched the sleep of smugglers after joining at Dharmanagar by conducting raid one by one against them.

Meanwhile the smugglers vacated the forest of North which continued at full swing during the period of Left Front. Many leftist leaders became rich by selling the government assets in exchange of bribe. Some smugglers vacated the hills of Juri and Kanchanpur Range.
