Election Department of the state has taken initiative to conduct poll at East Tripura Lok sabha constituency within loose security arrangement by utilizing administrative power in Khowai district. It has been proved by information from report of the administration.
The booths of six constituencies under the district have been divided into three categories including normal, vulnerable and critical. Sources said that two staffs of Tripura Police will stay in charge of Normal booths; two to three TSR jawans will stay in charge of vulnerable booths while four CRPF jawans will be deployed for Critical booths.
Meanwhile the opposition parties claimed that free and fair election is not possible by such a loose security.
Expressing objection on such role of Election department opposition Congress alleged that the department has set up security to provide extra mileage to ruling BJP. Congress further alleged that number of security arrangement would be less than any function. The political observers opined that the Election department planed to set up security in such a manner to satisfy the ruling government to make the election a farce. The local voters are quite doubtful about free and peaceful election in all six constituencies of Khowai district.
Meanwhile Bike troop of a political party started to threat the voters in darkness of night. But police has not taken any action against the Bike troop in spite of complain by voters. Opposition also alleged that ruling party supporters deployed for managing CC Camera instead of ARO so that they could make those inactive to avoid any undesirable incident.
