The Supreme Court under the division bench comprising justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and Udai Umesh Lalit on Thursday morning hearing the petition filed by the Tripura government, has extended the service of partially satisfied 10, 323 teachers till June 2018 next. The government in its petition had sought a year of extension of their service.
Reacting to the direction of apex court, the state education minister Tapan Chakraborty said, "The governent welcomes the direction of SC and now we shall get another some time to carry on our proccessings over continuation of the job of 10, 323 and appeal further."
Chakraborty reiterated, "As committed earlier, the government shall always be by their side because we just cannot let go the education system ruin."
He said that keeping in mind of sudden crisis of teachers in the government schools here and collapsing of new academic session, the Left front government has actually filed the petition to the SC seeking a year of extension.
However, in accordance to the direction of the apex court, the 10, 323 teachers can continue their service till June 2018.
