Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday addressed a Band display by Tripura police to commemorate police martyrs at Vivekananda stadium in Agartala. The day is observed to commemorate the sacrifice of the BSF martyrs for the safeguard of the nation. As a part of the day, mini marathon "Run-For-Martyrs" was also held.
Addressing the program, a total of 1700 persons participated in the 5 KMs run. People from all walks of life including women, children, old aged persons, CRPF, Assam Rifle, TSR-apart from BSF officials participated in the run.
CM Biplab Kumar Deb flagged off the rally from Vivekananda stadium.
H. K. Lohia, IG of Tripura Frontier of BSF, said that BSF has been conducting these marathons since 2012 and this is a tribute to the martyrs.
Jishnu Debbarma, Deputy Chief Minister, along with others remained present in the program.
