As the state along with rest of the nation has kicked off the Rubella-Measles Awareness Campaign and vaccination programme, this perhaps has gone wrong in a school located at Agrtala after the school management has complaint of misbehaviour by Medical Officer In-Charge (MOIC) – Dr. K.C. Roy. The incident took place at New Hindi Higher Secondary School at Khejurbagan, Agartala on September 13.
According to the complaint lodged by Lal Babu Roy, the secretary of the managing committee of the school, MOIC Dr. K C Roy following poor gathering of parents and students in the school on September 13 on the eve of Ganesha Puja, has misbehaved with the school authority and used foul languages towards some of the lady teachers in the school.
The complaint also stated that after being restricted from approaching badly towards the lady teachers, the MOIC Dr. K.C. Roy pushed one of the teachers and physically assaulted her.
However, after Dr. K C Roy was requested to refrain from assaulting the lady teacher, he left the school by putting a threat to the school authority and the teachers perhaps by saying – “I will see everybody” – as stated in the complaint.
The incident took place after Dr. K C Roy along with officials of the state health department came to the school to launch Rubella-Measles Vaccination campaign despite the fact that the students and parents of the particular school were in fast for the Ganesha Puja. Even though, the school authority managed to get participants in the awareness campaign programme, Dr. K.C Roy was annoyed of this and started abusing the school authority and other staffs.
However, seeking media’s intervention on this, the school management authority undersigned by the secretary Lal Babu Roy has demanded for an appropriate action against the accused Medical Officer In-Charge Dr. K.C. Roy.
