Road blockade held by PCC demanding compensation of flood victims

KAILASHAHAR:

Pradesh Congress led by PCC president Birajit Sinha organized a symbolic road blockade for one hour at Paitur Bazar of Kailashahar on demand of financial aid for the people of the subdivision who were affected by devastating flood of this year.

The road blockade started at Paitur Bazar Tri Junction at 11 a.m. During his speech PCC president threatened to organize greater agitation if the Government fails to provide financial assistance to the affected people within next 15 days.

General Secretary of PCC Harekrishna Bhowmik, District Congress president Badrujjaman, Congress leader Rudrendu Bhattacharjee were also present along with Sinha.

Information revealed that more than 2000 families belong to ward no-12 and 15 were affected by the flood. Meanwhile they got financial aid from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 6000. All shops of Paitur Bazar were gone under water during flood. But they did not get any financial assistance. PCC conducted the road blockade utilizing their resentment.
