Education minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated the function Sonamura Town Hall with an appeal to teachers to educate the students assuming them as their own children.
Speaking on the occasion Education minister stressed on taking the state at top position of the country in terms of education within next three years. Referring the state is lacking behind in education in the country he said education department is working to take state at top position of the country.
Expressing his frustration for demand of thousands of teacher for the schools and colleges at present he said, teachers with required qualification are not available at present. Referring posts are laying vacant he said eligible candidates for teachers post are not available while the state government is spending crores of rupees for education. He said, old education system will not be extended in state any more.
Referring the quotation of Swami Vivekananda he stressed on awakening each and every citizen of the country. He said, present government has converted the dream into determination. Referring quotation of former President Dr. Radhakrishnan he said “Education is not a profession but it is an ideal”. He appealed all teachers to remember the quotation. He also advised to take necessary education to become self –reliant.
During speech Principal Bimal Kumar Roy expressed his frustration for poor condition of the college building and lack of teachers. He appealed to the Education minister to maintain equality in number of teachers like other colleges of state.
