People of country are going to stage agitation as Government of India ruled by BJP has adopted policy against the interest of working class people, said CITU president of South District Biplab Sanyal at a street rally organized at Netaji Chowmuhani of Sabroom town in support of strike on January 8 and 9 with 12 point demand.
The rally was scheduled to be held with initiative of Jana Adhikar Mancha. But police administration started harassment in the name of permission. The police administration announced that there was no permission of rally but they would be able to organize street side rally. The duration of rally was permitted for 30 minutes only. Sabroom police prepared bamboo made barricade at the area. The leaders of the organization strongly condemned the attitude of the government who is snatching the right of people to speak.
GMP leader and MLA Prabhat Choudhury presided over the rally.
Among others CPI-M Sabroom Subdivision Secretary Dipak Choudhury, Khset Majur leader Bhuban Debnath, Trade Union leader Chitta Ranjan Basak, GMP leader Sathai Mog, farmer leader Naresh Patari were present in the rally.
Explaining the reasonability of the strike Sanyal said, 70 lakh people lost their job after demonetization in the country and 2.34 lakh small scale industry were shut down. The government of the country is trying to weaken the movement of working class by creating discrimination in the name religion and caste. There is no employment and no assurance of job for workers under different projects. He appealed all to support the 2 days strike in support of 12 point demand.
