Defending champion Jewels Association simply thrashed Tripura Police today and thus made their place in the semifinal of the ongoing Rakhal Shield knock out football tournament organized by Tripura Football association. In the last quarterfinal match today at Umakanta mini stadium Jewels Association outplayed Tripura Police and thus won the match by a huge margin of 5-0. Jewels association will now play against Mouchak club in semifinal.
Poltu Choudhury and Vente scored two goals each and thus took Jewels to the last four of the tournament. But the main difference between the two sides have been made by the Jewels defenders also goal keeper Sasthi Mahato was just splendid in front of the goal post. Similarly Police defense was not up to the mark and thus they conceded 5 goals in the match. Jewels took the advantage with two hands and thus moved to the semifinal just like a champion team.
Before the semifinal Jewels team might get stronger after the inclusion of Basant Singh, Debasish Rai and Sonam Lepcha. In the opening minute of the match Poltu scored the opening goal for Jewels as after that they never looked back. In the 51st minuteSunday scored his opening goal while in the 66th minute Vente and in 70th minute Poltu scored another two goals. Just before the end of the match Vente scored his second and thus Jewels won the match by 5-0.
