Tripura Journalist Union Gomati District Committee submitted memorandum to Chief Minister through SP today in protest of brutal murder of Journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik after calling him at Headquarter of TSR 2nd Battalion yesterday and on demand of CBI inquiry for impartial investigation of the case. Referring sequential brutal murder of two journalists in the state is rarest incident in the history of the world TJU demanded to handover the charge of investigation of both the murders to CBI.
TJU also demanded to ensure security of journalists through strong legal procedure, to arrange exemplary punishment after completion of judgment through imposition of strong section of legal procedure against the accused Commandant Tapan Debbarma and other accused persons. A delegation of eight journalists was present during deputation.
SP Bijoy Debbarma assured the journalists to send the memorandum to Chief Minister.
Our correspondent from Kailashahar added that Tripura Journalists Union Unakoti District Committee expressed deep mourn of brutal murder of Journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik. In a condolence meeting the members of the Union observed one minute silence in memory of Journalist Dutta Bhowmik.
Meanwhile Unakoti District Committee of TJU demanded strong punishment of murder accused TSR Commandant and his bodyguard and necessary compensation to the family members of the Journalist. District Committee of TJU will organize a condolence meeting in memory of Sudip Dutta Bhowmik at 6 p.m. tomorrow.
In a press statement Chairman of ADC Dr. Ranjit Debbarma strongly condemned the brutal murder of Journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik and expressed deep mourn. He also expressed sympathy for the family members of the bereaved family.
In another message Chief Executive Member of ADC Radhacharan Debbarma expressed deep morn condemning the incident of murder of Dutta Bhowmik. He appealed for immediate punishment of the accused persons.
Meanwhile North District Committee of Tripura Working Journalist Association strongly condemned the incident of brutal murder of Journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik by calling him at Headquarter of TSR 2nd Battalion and denounced the Home Department of the state. The working journalists paraded different streets of Dharmanagar by wiring black badge and submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister through SP of North Manik Das.
TWJA alleged that effort is going on to make 4th pillar of democracy silent by brutal murder of two journalists within a gap of 62 days whereas the Chief Minister is doing nothing who is in charge of the department. The association demanded exemplary punishment of the accused persons by conducting investigation through CBI.
