A large contingent of police led by DSP of DIB Bikramjit Singh and SDPO Jyotishman Das Choudhury seized huge amount of contraband items from the house and illegal shop of liquor trader Jitu Saha in the morning today.
The seized contraband items have been shifted to Dharmangar Police Station. Besides, police detained Jutu Saha in the police station for interrogation. Police found three godowns at the house of Saha and informed Customs department.
Meanwhile Customs department sealed the three godowns of the house after investigation. Even the officials of Customs department brought back the seized contraband items from the police station and sealed those in the godowns.
Sources said that owner of F.L. Shop at Central Road Jitu Saha was continuing illegal business in spite allegation from different sections. He continued business during Durgapuja and Kalipuja from his own house refusing law and order.
From information it revealed that Jutu Saha got license of selling foreign liquor by opening shop as his old shop closed according order of Supreme Court which was within 500 meter of National Highway. But the local people raised allegation against him as he started to sell contraband items illegally.
