Acting on secret information a large contingent of police led by OC Kamal Kar Choudhury of Sabroom Police Station recovered two sacs of cloth from Kalacherri area of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat today.
The cloths were kept for smuggling to Bangladesh. Altogether 134 piece valuable sharees worth of about Rs. 2 lakh recovered from the two sacs.
Meanwhile MLA Sankar Roy stressed on peace for development in the subdivision. Sources said that law and order situation of the subdivision developed after taking charge of OC Kamal Kar Choudhury.
At the same time local people raised demand to shift the liquor shop which is situated within 200 Meter of the National Highway.
The shop was opened illegally during the period of Left Front Government while Sabroom Model J.B. School, Anganwadi center and some religious organizations are situated in the area.
