Our correspondent from Churaibari added that polling staffs and security staffs started for polling stations of by-poll in the afternoon today. Election will be held tomorrow for 10 vacant seats of Panchayat and one seat of Panchayat Samiti under Kadamtala R.D. Block.
OC of Kadamtala Police Station Partha Chakraborty said, huge police and TSR will be deployed surrounding polling centers to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, Returning Officer and BDO of Kadamtala Block Baijayanta Das said, vote will be held at 11 seats. Kadamtala Block is exception in state although the candidates of ruling party elected uncontested at by-poll in other parts of the state. All parties including CPI-M, IPFT, BJP and Congress will contest for the seats here.
At the same time by-election will be held for 17 seats of Gram Panchayat including 9 seats of 6 panchayats under Kalacherra Block. By-poll will be held from vacant seats of 8 panchayats and one vacant seat of Panchayat Samiti.
Besides, by-poll will be held for vacant seats of 15 Panchayats of 21 Gram Panchayats under Yubarajnagar Block. All the polling stations have been covered by the large contingent of police to avoid any untoward incident.
Our correspondent from Khowai added that by-poll will be held at 15 seats of Panchayat including 9 seats of Laxmi Narayanpur GP and 6 seats of Purba Ramchandraghat GP and seat no-12 of Panchayat Samiti tomorrow.
In the meantime ruling party won 12 seats of Panchayat Samiti uncontested. Meanwhile, polling staffs and security personnel reached at the polling stations. Altogether 6960 voters will exercise their franchise tomorrow.
