National Senior Women Cricket: Tripura defeat Rajasthan by 42 runs

Tripura senior cricket team today started with a winning note as they defeated Rajasthan by 42 runs in the opening match of the ongoing National Senior Women One Day tournament. At Jadhavpur University second campus field today Mouchaity Debnath, Moutushi Dey, Indrarani Jamatia and Suravi Roy played well to led their team to the winning mark. With this win Tripura started their campaign well and achieved 4 crucial points.

In the morning today Tripura captain Annapurna Das won the toss and elected to bat first. Mouchaity Debnath, Moutushi Dey, Indrarani Jamatia were the stand out performers with the bat as only these trio crossed double digit mark. Mouchaity Debnath made 75 from 127 balls with 7 fours, Moutushi Dey remained unbeaten on 46 from 67 balls with 4 fours and Indrarani Jamatia made 39 runs. From 50 overs Tripura made 185 for the loss of 6 wickets.

P Yadhav and S Bishnoi picked up 1 wicket each. In reply Tripura bowlers bowled beautifully and the whole Rajasthan team bundled out for 143 runs. Batting at no 10 S Siddhu scored highest 24 runs while P Yadhav made 22 and A Garg and S Bishnoi scored 17 and 13 respectively. Among the Tripura bowlers Suravi Roy picked up 4 wickets while all rounder Moutushi Dey picked up 2 wickets. With this Tripura won the match by 42 runs and started well.
