Abhishek Lagardo of Sepahijala district surprised everyone and secured a gold medal today in the ongoing 15th National Inter District athletics tournament which has been going on at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
In the under 14 Boy’s High Jump event Abhishek Lagardo secured the gold medal. He jumped over a distance of 1.74 cm. this three-day long tournament will come to an end tomorrow.
Coach Birendra Majumder looked very much pleased with the result and he said that Abhishek bagged the gold medal beyond the expectation as he won the medal for the first time ever for Tripura. With this performance the name of Tripura once again highlighted at the national level.
As per the state athletic association on the last day of the tournament Tripura will win more medals. Fastest sprinter of North East Madhumita Deb will enter in the field to win medal as the whole state will looking forward to this wonder girl.
