In a verdict Additional Session Judge of Udaipur Sankar Lal Dutta convicted accused Khakchang Jamatia in charge of murder of his lover Binata Jamatia. After long hearing the court ordered him for life term imprisonment and fined Rs. 25,000 under section 302 of IPC and also ordered one year more imprisonment with fine Rs. 2000 under section 201 of IPC.
Sources said that Binata Jamatia daughter of Birkumar Jamatia from Lajila Cherra village went out of house to meet her lover Khakchang Jamatia at 4 p.m. on December 3 in 2015. But she did not return home on that day. After conducting lot of search her parents found her body nearby the road of Lajila Baracherra.
Later her father Birkumar filed a complaint at Killa Police Station. On the basis of complain police arrested Khakchang Jamatia. Later during interrogation of police he admitted that he had committed the murder.
He also admitted that he suspected that Binata who was teaching at English Medium School students had made love affairs with some other person. So he murdered her with a knife at Lajila Cherra.
