MoU signed between ONGC Tripura Asset and Directorate of Biotechnology for Building Bio-Village

In one of the maiden initiative, ONGC Tripura Asset and Directorate of Biotechnology, government of Tripura has signed a MoU on Building a Bio-Village at Brajendranagar under Pandabpur GP, Dukli block.  This is one of the first ever initiative taken in entire Eastern India.

The signing ceremony was held at TSPCB in presence of Science, Technology and Environment Minister Sudip Roy Barman.

Reportedly, 40 families have been selected from Bajendra Nagar under Padmapur Gram Panchyat, Dukli Block for experiencing the BioTech Kit, Energy Saving Electronic Gadgets, Mushroom Kits and Bee Keeping Units.

Addressing the program Science, Technology and Environment Minister Sudip Roy Barman stated that the particular initiative is taken to make use of environment-friendly technology which will improve the livelihood.

Minister Barman further stated that a major benefit to consumers of organic food is that it doesn't contain any kind of toxic chemicals like pesticides, fungicides and herbicides. Humans can taste the food they ingest. Organically grown food tastes better than that conventionally grown. The tastiness of fruit and vegetables is directly related to its sugar content and they are not at all harmful to human health comparing to others.
