An important meeting on Diwali Mela - 2018 held at DM Office of Gomati in Udaipur today. It was discussed that three days Diwali Mela would begin at Matabari from November 6 this year.
The administration estimated that 5 to 7 lakh people could visit the temple during three days of Mela and festival. It has been decided to increase security arrangement this year in comparison to previous year to maintain discipline and peace.
Besides, it was decided to send proposal to the Railway department to run special train for the devotees on day’s festival. The administration also discussed about continuing vehicle and train service all over the night for the devotees.
Meanwhile DM instructed PWD start repair and maintenance of the roads which are maintaining communication with Matabari.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, will inaugurate Diwali Mela on November 6 in presence of Governor and others. Besides, initiative has been taken to invite one Central Minister on the eve of inauguration of Mela.
It was also discussed to arrange lighting and cultural function in a separate style this year.
Tourism minister Pranajit Sinha Roy, MLA Biplab Ghosh, DM T.K. Debnath, SDM Asish Dutta and SDPO Himadri Das were also present in the meeting.
