MBDPCC, the freshly formed organization which has been dealing with the interests of ‘Bru’ refugees’ residing in the 7 relief camps throughout the bordering areas of North Tripura District and Mizoram, on Tuesday lodged stern allegations against the Mizoram government.
Issuing a press communique on the very matter president T. Laldingliana had stated that the Mizoram government is playing double game with the refugees and the repatriation pact which has been signed as four corner agreements at New Delhi on July 03 last. “The government of Mizoram in one hand sustained their positive concern towards the agreement where in the other they had passively triggered their communal outfits and NGOs to forge conspiracies against them” said the president over phone while speaking to us.
Citing an instance that however spread a hint of uncertainty among the refugees regarding their future security concerns he added, a huge mob consisting the leaders of Mizo communal outfits on August 10 attacked an official delegation of the election department of Mizoram and restrained them to enter in Tripura. The delegation was arriving in relief camps to avail the facilities related to draft electoral roll as inclusion, deletion and correction as per the resolutions of four corner agreement, so on in the joint monitoring group on August 10 last. But they were confined by the mob at Zawalnam near Lokicherra.
However, according his statement the refugee outfit is also planning to initiate a long agitation march from Kanchanam to Zawalnam RD Block drawing attention of the central government regarding the malfunctioning of the earlier signed pact.
Meanwhile, While MBDPF the refugee outfit which was the main constituent part of the Four Corner Agreement was asked to reveal their views, they found criticizing both the parties for the prevailing mishaps taken place prior to the repatriation.
