The previous government distributed 39,000 gas connections under Rural Gas Distribution Project or Ujala Yojona while the present State Government distributed near about two lakh connections under the project during last 8 months, said Food and Civil Supplies minister Manoj Kanti Deb while inaugurating Rural Gas Distribution Centre at Bagabasa of Nalchar today.
He further added Central Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana in August, 2017. MLA of Nalchar Constituency Subhas Chandra Das and MLA Rampada Jamatia were present at the programme among distinguished guests.
Speaking on the occasion Food minister Deb said, “the state government has decided to distribute ‘Masur Dal’ through public distribution system within December this year.” Referring the new government decided to make Tripura free from addiction he said, the work is going on to that target.
He said, “The government will purchase rice from the farmers of the state through FCI at Rs. 17.50 per Kg in December to encourage them in agricultural production”
Referring the present government has a burden of loan of Rs. 11,000 crore he appealed all to cooperate the government adding that the present government would fulfill all the assurances of vision document. On the occasion gas cylinder and gas stove were handed over 10 under privileged women.
During speech MLA Rampada Jamatia appreciated Prime Minister for fulfilling the fundamental demands of poor families. MLA Subhash Chandra Das criticized the previous government on failing to conduct necessary campaign of the project.
