Lucky-Srivastava memorial Football: Manipur SAAC moves to quarterfinal

Manipur SAAC football team today moved to the quarterfinal of the ongoing 21st Lucky-Srivastava memorial Football tournament organized by ONGC Tripura Asset. In an exciting encounter at Umakanta mini stadium today SAAC team defeated Chanmari FC of Mizoram in the sudden death by 10(4)-9(4). For the semifinal berth Manipur SAAC football team will now face Jewels association of Tripura.

The stipulated time ended with 3-3 as both the teams displayed equal level football. In the 6th minute of the match Ajoy Kumar scored the opening goal for SAAC while in the 18th minute Sena scored the equalizer for Chanmari while in the 34th minute Chanmari took the lead with the goal from Chan Hima. In the second half Bipin scored the equalizer while he scored once again in the 83rd minute for SAAC while Sena scored the equalizer for Chanmari.

The match then headed towards extra time where in the 4th minute Melthe scored the goal for Chanmari while just before the end of first half in extra time Bipin scored his hat trick. Then the match headed towards tie breaker where the score remained same. Then the match has been resulted at sudden death where Wahas scored the sudden death goal for Manipur SAAC football team and thus SAAC won the match in the end and moved to the quarterfinal.
