Long pending demand of villagers of Keroling village under Sardukjari ADC village of Teliamura fulfilled after 40 years with the laying of foundation stone of foot bridge at the village.
Chief Whip of State Assembly and local MLA Kalyani Roy laid the foundation stone in presence of Superintendent Engineer of RD department Kshudiram Tripura, Chief Engineer of RD Department, Teliamura Division Shaibal Bhattacharjee. An amount of Rs. 59 crore will be spent for the bridge.
Speaking on the occasion Roy said that Chief Minister said to her that the bridge would be constructed after the budget of next year. But Kalyani Roy earnestly requested Chief Minister to start the work this year as she gave word to villagers. Observing tears at her eyes Chief Minister instructed to construct the road and bridge immediately. Accordingly the villagers got road within last few months. The works of the bridge has been started from today.
Sources said that the villagers’ boycotted vote on failing to get the bridge and they promised not to participate in any election.
About 60 families of Kaipeng community live in the village. The villagers have been suffering for a bridge and pucca road for many years. The ministers and public representatives did not do anything in spite of huge assurance.
