A gathering of about five thousand supporters of IPFT including students, youths, women and aged persons raised the demand of Twipra Land at Karbook subdivision today. They raised the slogan, “we want Twipra Land for our existence, save our people”.
They also welcomed the 12 member delegation and greeted them who will arrive in the state from Delhi tomorrow. IPFT Sources claimed that the delegation would observe whether the demand of IPFT was right and whether they had requirement of land and then they would submit their report to Delhi.
According to sources about 5000 supporters of IPFT from 22 panchayats reached at Weekly Market of Karbook through procession and participated in the rally.
Youth IPFT president Dhananjay Tripura, vice president of IPFT Bir Bahadur Jamatia, Karbook subdivision president of IPFT Rabi Kumar Debbarma, Secretary of IPFT Karbook Division Mochan Tripura, Youth IPFT Secretary of Karbook subdivision Dhanijaj Tripura were led the rally.
The speakers appealed the delegation and the State Government to take necessary steps to implement the demand of Twipra land, otherwise IPFT will organize greater agitation in days to come.
Meanwhile IPFT organized similar rally at BMS ground of New Motor stand in Kanchanpur today. IPFT Central Committee AGS Jibanjoy Reang and MLA Prem Kumar Reang were present in the rally. Besides similar rally was organized at Sabroom today.
