IPFT needs no alliance: IPFT

AGARTALA:

Despite repeated attempts by the BJP, the alliance partner IPFT has decided not to go for any further dialogue regarding the seat sharing issues or withdrawal of nominations but to fight the Lok Sabha elections on their own.

Speaking to the correspondent over phone, IPFT Assistant General Secretary Mangal Debbarma said, the BJP is free to say what they want but the IPFT is not ready to go for any pre-poll arrangement right now, while commenting on BJP spokesperson Ashok Sinha’s remarks. He said, we have approached the BJP time and gain but in vain, no positive response was shown from the state leadership or the high command. Now it is final that we are fighting the poll alone, said Mangal.

While asked about TPCC president’s offer of an “honourable alliance”, he said, all these statements have no valid grounds, the IPFT had neither approached the Congress nor the Congress has any proximity with the IPFT. Today our candidate filed nomination for the East Constituency and already filed in the West on march 22 last, he added.
