Inter School Cricket: Taltala, Berimura win

AGARTALA:

Taltala School, Berimura School won their respective matches today in the ongoing Inter School cricket tournament organized by Mohanpur subdivision cricket association. In the first match today at Mohanpur school field, Taltala School defeated Taranagar School by a huge margin of 278 runs.

Batting first Taltala School posted a mammoth 345 runs from 39.5 overs. Among the batsmen Opener Ratnadip Das smashed the bowlers and made 139 runs from 97 balls with 21 fours and 3 sixes. While the other opener Priyotosh Paul made 53 from 57 balls with 8 fours while Rahul Sarkar made 20 with 4 fours.

Among the bowlers Prakash Debnath picked up 6 wickets. In reply Taranagar bundled out for a mere 67 runs. Rana Debnath top scored with 13 while 31 extra runs have been given by the opposition bowlers. Joy Sarkar of Taltala School picked up 4 wickets while Rahul Sarkar picked up 3 wickets.

In the other match at Taltala school field, Berimura School defeated Mohanpur School by 4 wickets. Batting first Mohanpur made 133. Bishnu Malakar made 35. Among the bowlers Dipen Biswas picked up 4 wickets. In reply Berimura School achieved the target with ease losing 6 wickets. Chiranjit Das made 52.

The New Zealand all-rounder, who’s stepped into the role of an injured Devon Conway, said being an opener is just about being a lot more comfortable at the top and is close to unlocking his potential in that position.
