Tripura Pradesh Congress President Pradyot Kishore Debbarman today offered an “honourable alliance” to the BJP partner IPFT if the party breaks the alliance.
Speaking to this correspondent over phone Pradyot said, the Congress will treat the IPFT with “honour” if the party comes out of the alliance with the BJP. The IPFT is facing a crisis period in the alliance with. No possible scope of talks is being offered to the IPFT leaders. Even with the seat sharing issue, the party faced several hurdles and lastly decided to go solo, he added.
However, only recently the IPFT had declared their candidates after being rebuffed by the BJP. On the other hand, the IPFT leaders showed no interest in splitting and kept the doors open for the BJP for another round of discussion, according to IPFT sources.
