Gomati to become free from plastic bag

UDAIPUR:

The entire Gomati district will become free from plastic carry bag within August 15 this year, said Ravel Hemendra Kumar to media at press conference at Udaipur today. He said, Supreme Court imposed ban on sale, storage and use of carry bag all over the country. Accordingly administrative authority of Udaipur subdivision and Gomati district started campaign against carry bag on June 2.

Meanwhile the administration seized 1000 Kg plastic carry bag and fined Rs.6000 in allegation of selling and using carry bag.

Talking to reporters SDM of Udaipur Subhasish Bandyopadhyay said, about 90 percent places of Udaipur became free from plastic carry bag within one week. Gradually the campaign will be shifted different markets of different blocks of the district. He also appreciated police for their cooperation to conduct the campaign.
